The Daily Express told how a National Lottery punter won just ?21 for matching four balls when three would have netted ?25. Adrian Hewlett, 69, has stopped playing the game, saying he prefers the Health Lottery. Since its launch in 2011 the Health Lottery has given ?60million to good causes.

One is figires increase in 2013 from ?1 to ?2 for a Lotto ticket ï¿½ the Lotteryï¿½s main draw which is held twice a week. Players have to select six numbers from 1 to 59. A spokesman told The Mail on Sunday that it couldnï¿½t comment on the accuracy of the Gambling Commissionï¿½s data, saying that its own researchers used larger sample sizes over longer periods.
